A Modern Headshot Session
My portrait clients, without exception, are the most fascinating, amazing people. This European gentleman speaks ten languages, has raced bicycles, and is an extremely professional man with an artistic soul. We did many different looks for his headshot session, and I love the moods we created for him.

Mothers and Daughters 2015 {Family Photography | Minneapolis St. Paul, Twin Cities, MN}
Another wonderful, beautiful mother-daughter retreat has come and gone. For the past several years I've been invited to take portraits of the mothers and daughters at The Soul Sisterhood Retreat, and it is always such a joy. The director, Amanda, sets up such a warm, cozy, nurturing and loving environment for her attendees. It's such a lovely thing to witness and to photograph. This bunch was so much fun, and their love was palpable. I am so thankful to have been a part of this event once more.

The S. Family {Family Photography | Minneapolis St. Paul, Twin Cities, MN}
And "S" stands for... "snow!" The first snow session of 2015 - and what a perfect family with whom to share it.
They dearly love their pets, as you can see. They brought along their magnificently beautiful dog and gorgeous, adorable bunny rabbit. I love how they really made sure their animal buddies were part of the family, through the whole shoot. I also love how dogs and bunnies are good for keeping people warm during winter photo sessions! I highly recommend them for all my clients.
We had a slightly chilly but lovely day with the most wonderful golden glow.

Fall Family Session
I am still catching up on posting my fall family sessions... there were a LOT, and I loved them all!
I have photographed this family many times, now, and it is always wonderful. Their oldest little guy is such a cutie, and has always been a natural in front of the camera - I really think he should teach lessons. (I am not kidding!) I can always count on him to make my job easy and fun. His little sister is such an adorable little doll, too. Her big eyes and sweet expressions really get me right in the heart!

Austin is the nicest guy. He's passionate about kickboxing and martial arts, and also photography. We had a lot to talk about during his senior portrait session! We ran (literally!) all over town taking pictures and had a terrific time.

Sweet Fall Family
This session happened several weeks ago but I had so many fall sessions, I ran out of time to blog them all (that is in no way a complaint...)! I absolutely love seeing families when they come back after some time has passed. In this case, the last time I saw this little guy, he had just been born! No matter how many children you get to know, it is always so amazing to see how much they grow and change in so short a time. His smile and his dimples are so adorable, and his parents love him so much!

Caroline {Senior Photography | Minneapolis St. Paul, Twin Cities, MN}
Meet Caroline. And her cello. They are pretty much inseparable.
Caroline is an AMAZING cellist, a winner of many awards and competitions, including a showcase artist spot with Minnesota Varsity. She played for me throughout her entire senior photo shoot, and it was heavenly. I especially loved hearing her music floating though the woods near my studio. It was such a wonderful time. We even discovered a really neat fort that someone had built in the woods - it was perfect for Caroline!

Nick is such a nice guy. He's an awesome football player, smart, easygoing, and fun. He brought his family out to the studio for a combination senior/family photo shoot, and we had the best night. It felt more like summer than fall outside!

Emma {High School Senior Photography | Minneapolis-St. Paul, Twin Cities, MN}
Emma. Oh, Emma. I loved her session so much! She is a gifted classical saxophonist, well-travelled, artistic, intelligent, beautiful, fun, sweet, cool, and so many other adjectives. She drove a really long way to get these done, with both parents, two dogs, and a saxophone. She let me drag her all over town. We had a super time.
We also had a traffic jam, in our tiny little town, which Emma managed to turn into a beautiful thing.

The A Family {Family Photography | Minneapolis St. Paul, Twin Cities, MN}
Look at this Angel Face.
Her really awesome mom and dad wanted some studio images of her, and then for the family pictures, candids. Them interacting, being real and natural together... and I love that!
We had a warm, mild, wonderful October day, and a whole lot of smiles and cuddles.

Emily {Senior Photography | Minneapolis St. Paul, Twin Cities, MN}
Emily. Whether she liked it or not, she had a lot of drama for her senior session. The forecast called for sun and mild weather. On my way to her shoot, the forecast changed - just as I noticed the clouds gathering. No problem, it was only supposed to rain a little, about an hour into her session, so we'd still have plenty of time outside.
Just as Emily and her mom arrived, it started to pour! Oops. And we decided to make the best of it and use awnings, overhangs and umbrellas, because... after all, like the forecast said, it was only going to rain a little.
So, we shot pictures outside, and... it actually poured and thunderstormed, and there was lightning and thunder. Of course!
All the while, though, Emily was cool, relaxed, fun, and beautiful, and I just LOVE how her senior session turned out. When the storm ended, the sun burst through the clouds and it was just lovely out. So we had a little bit of everything! Which makes sense for Emily, because she is such a unique, special, wonderful girl, an athlete, a scholar, a friend... and it was an honor to be her senior photographer.

Arianna {Senior Photography | Minneapolis St. Paul, Twin Cities, MN}
This girl and her mom thought of everything. Her session was so special and meaningful! They wanted a totally natural environment, and to incorporate some important family accessories, including her grandmother's pearls, her grandfather's Stetson-style hat and her mother's wedding-day earrings. They also brought an amazing Victorian gown she's worn in theatre productions at her church - these musicals are a big part of her life, so it was really neat to showcase her in the dress!
We had such a wonderful time, and we also had a perfect, mild, fall evening.
