Happy New Year!

What a fantastic 2014 it's been!  I have had the most wonderful, kindhearted, appreciative, FUN clients this past year.  The words "thank you" just don't seem adequate.  But I will say them anyway.

These people right here are such good friends (and I don't get to see them often enough - I really need to change that in 2015).   And this day was as cold and dreary as all get-out.  Outside, that is.  Not where it mattered - in their hearts!

(Gee, it sure is a shame that they are so stiff and serious together, isn't it?  Maybe they ought to loosen up and laugh a little more.)

The Soul Sisterhood Retreat, December 2014: Comfort {Family Phototography | Twin Cities, Minneapolis St. Paul, MN}

"As a mother comforts her child, 
so will I comfort you; 
and you will be comforted over Jerusalem." 
-Isaiah 66:13

I so love visiting this mother-daughter retreat once or twice a year and photographing these beautiful, loving ladies.  Again, our setting was South Fork Farm in Lester Prairie, and again, these mother-daughter pairs were wonderful and lovely.  The Soul Sisterhood Retreat is a ministry of St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church in Plymouth, MN and is run by the amazing and gifted Amanda Berger. 

This year's theme for the weekend retreat was "comfort."  I showed up on a coldish December day, and "comfort" was in full swing at the farm with these mothers and daughters.  I couldn't help but feel comforted myself, and the whole idea of "comfort" found its way into these portraits as well.

Many thanks to the staff of the Soul Sisterhood Retreat, and to these special families who allowed me to crash their retreat again!

Snowy Saturday {Portrait Photography | Twin Cities, Minneapolis St. Paul, MN}

Ah, fall in Minnesota.  It sometimes looks like this!  And when that happens, we just roll with it and enjoy the beautiful snowy magic.  I loved this session - these two were so wonderful and fun and up for anything, even outdoor pictures while the snow was falling.

A Family Session {Family Portrait Photography | Twin Cities, Minneapolis St. Paul, MN}

I so loved and enjoyed meeting and working with this wonderful, beautiful family!  They were so easy to be with.  And after their session, I learned that we have several good friends in common - I know, I say that a lot, but it happens a lot!  It is so amazing to me how often I discover mutual friends, interests, and more with my clients.  I am blessed beyond belief to be able to work with kindred spirits week after week.
