THE SIMPLE THINGS: OUT OF DARKNESS, LET LIGHT SHINE.
"It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!"
-Mark Twain

This is the simple story of two heroes awaiting the arrival of the Fair Lady Spring.
The story begins in darkness, at the castle door. Someone is waiting.
And wishing.
And longing.
Another is waiting, too.
And then -
"O, wonderful, wonderful, and most wonderful! and yet again wonderful, and after that, out of all whooping!"
-William Shakespeare
Slowly, the long and delicate fingers of Spring reach from beyond the horizon, and unlatch the door to Winter's cage. Our heroes are released from the dungeon of darkness and into the warm glow of April.
"in Just-
spring when the world is mud-
luscious the little
lame balloonman
whistles far and wee
and eddieandbill come
running from marbles and
piracies and it's
spring
when the world is puddle-wonderful..."
-e.e. cummings
It is time for the slaying of dragons and for the final, triumphant blow, delivered to (and from) the Winter Wind.
"A little Madness in the Spring
Is wholesome even for the King."
- Emily Dickinson
And with that, Spring is here; she is welcomed. The trumpet fanfare sounds.
"For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' has shone in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God's glory..."
2 Corinthians 4:6
Happy, wonderful spring.
