A group of photographers that I am involved with is running a monthly blog series remembering the simpler moments in our lives. As we share our own stories we share a link to another story in the group and the posts form a complete circle. I hope you enjoy this latest set of stories of "The Simple Things."

THE SIMPLE THINGS. SUNSHINE, BETWEEN STORMS.
We've had a stormy June here in the Middle Western United States. After one storm, and before another, I took my youngest son out for a walk. He was so happy to get out of the house after watching the rain all day.
He was the sunshine between the storms.
We encountered a huge puddle and paused briefly and contemplated. Actually, my little boy contemplated and I walked right into it to take this picture.
My son took my hand and joined me in the puddle, then, and we got our shoes really, really wet.
Hand in hand, we explored some new territory. On the other side of that gigantic puddle was this.
We picked flowers.
My son watched a stick flowing downstream, while I watched him.
And then it got cloudy again, and it was time to go home.
By the time we got there, it was raining again. But it was so lovely to have that wonderful hour or two of sunshine, between the storms.
